MurderDeathKill

My four month old suddenly, in past few days, gives me hell about nursing on my right, unless he’s half asleep. He has never really discriminated before, and I’ve always had supply issues, particularly that breast, so I’m worried.

My husbands suggestion? “maybe you should think about not breastfeeding anymore…”

:silent rage:

10 minutes later:

“I can’t believe you’d suggest that!”
“suggest what?”
“that I stop breastfeeding!”
“I didn’t suggest that! I just said you should think about it”
“that is, by definition, a suggestion!!!!! What do you think he would eat instead? Formula?”
“idk!!!! I just said to think about it!”

Omg why say such stupidities without thinking it through?! Such a sensitive topic with all the hell I’ve been through since BEFORE day one to breastfeed my son!

Ugh.

Anyway, any ideas as to why the sudden discrimination? What should I do?

Obv, please don’t suggest weaning. I’ll just ignore you.

  1. crycky answered: Give him the side he wants when he asks for it and the other when you can get away with it
  2. 2fatchicksgettingfit answered: it is the age. after a week or 2 baby should be back to normal. you can go in a dark quite room during the day and it should also help.
  3. witchsauce answered: Spouses don’t seem to enjoy listening to their partners complain. It sucks
  4. thebreastfedbaby answered: Don’t worry! Keep offering. I promise. Babies do this sometimes, and then they get over it. Seriously. It’s happened to me.
  5. eunicesarai answered: Hm, mothers milk tea could help with your milk supply. My babe also prefers one side over the other not sure why though

Maybe try pumping the boob...supply up? Pumping actually ended up increasing
  7. canwegohalfonababy answered: my husband pulled this “suggestion” out of his ass once when he got sick about hearing me complain about cluster feeding. so helpful :/
  8. purplesmom answered: maybe that side takes longer to let down? hand express for a moment to get the milk flowing on that side before feeds
